February Graduation Fun
If you’ve had a desire to give back to others and you think you and your dog would be a good team to visit people in a hospital or nursing home or have children read a book to your dog… Now you can take the first step by signing up for my AKC Canine Good Citizen class.
Even if you don’t want to be a Therapy Dog Team, obtaining a CGC certificate can open up other new opportunities for you and your dog. CGC is also now an AKC Title. AKC has also expanded the CGC certificate to include an additional 2 advanced tests: the Community Canine (aka CGC-Advanced) and the CGC Urban.
As the we get closer to Spring, be on the lookout for additional classes to be posted.
Looking forward to seeing you and your pups soon. In the meantime, remember to dream about unleashing your dog’s pawsibilities!

A Time for Love… Will You Be Mine?

Will you be your dog’s Valentine? Dogs give us so much love each and every day. Celebrate this love with the perfect mix of treats, learning, toys, fun and bonding.
Join us for some training and fun in our indoor Puppy and Family Dog Training classes in west Redding. See attached Letter, Registration Form & What to Bring to Class:

Both Puppy and Family Dog Training classes will meet twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays for 3 weeks for a total of 6 classes.

Class Dates:

Class #1: Monday, Feb. 17^th, 2014
Class #2: Thursday, Feb. 20^th, 2014
Class #3: Monday, Feb. 24^th, 2014
Class #4: Thursday, Feb. 27^th, 2014
Class #5: Monday, March 3^rd, 2014
GRADUATION! Thurs., March 6^th, 2014

Class Times:

5:30 p.m. Puppy (Ages 10 weeks – approximately 4-5 months old)
7:00 p.m. Family (Ages approximately 6 months and older)

Vaccinations Requested:

Puppies: DHLP-Parvo – at least first 2 sets, & Bordetella
Dogs 6 mos & older: DHLP-Parvo, Rabies & Bordetella

PLEASE NOTE – Class Location: First Christian Church, 3590 Placer St., Redding (We strongly suggest during daylight hours you drive by the location and familiarize yourself with the entrance as it can be tricky at night)

Make it your NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION to commit to one of the best investments that will give you the most terrific return over and over and over again.
Join us as we start the New Year off right in our indoor Puppy and Family Dog Training classes in west Redding. We are grateful to the First Christian Church on Placer and Buena Ventura for allowing us the use of their multi-purpose/youth room.

*Discounts available for: more than one dog in the family when both take the class together with two handlers; OR “bring a friend & their dog”; OR those who are repeating the class to brush up on skills.

Pet Peeve #2

It is 96 degrees and you left your dog in the car.
What were you thinking?
You said, “I left water in the car.”
I said, “It’s still too hot in the car for your dog, it can be 20-30 degrees hotter even with the windows down.”
You said, “I take care of my dog, my dog is my child, I love this dog.”
I said, “As one who trains, works and rescues dogs, you will kill this dog.”
You said, “Mind your own *%#! business.”
Next time… I think I will call animal control… this was animal cruelty.
