Resource Guarding (aka Possessiveness)

I often come across with my clientele the problem of what the client calls “aggressive” behavior. The word “Aggressive” can mean so many different things for a variety of different situations. There is one form that would be better labeled as “Resource Guarding”. This is when a dog perceives something as value and wants to keep the resource or object to them self. They want to own it and no one else can have it. In dogs it is manifested in a variety of forms. Here is a good article on what it can look like. I hope you enjoy it and learn too! 😊 (if you do need help retraining this with your dog feel free to give me a call for dog training lessons.
